“This project set out to map Vaasa not through streets and landmarks, but through dialogue with the people who live there. Each conversation began at a space that already held a story for them. Sculpting a portrait in clay became a platform for exchange: the time it takes to shape a face is also time spent in conversation, in shared waiting, in attention to place.

To make this dialogue possible anywhere in the city, the sculpting process itself needed to travel. A mobile sculpting trolley was developed, transforming the studio into something that could move to any chosen location. Through these encounters, a subjective map of Vaasa slowly took form, built from residents’ voices rather than official cartography.”.
